Pan American Judo Confederation Recognized by the International Judo Federation

USA Judo is pleased to announce to its membership the organization has been notified that the International Judo Federation has voted to recognize the newly formed Pan American Judo Confederation to be the sole organization representing judo in the Americas to the IJF.
The notification came this week from Paulo Wanderley, President of the Brazil Judo Confederation and the PJC.
At the first constitutional meeting of the PJC, held several weeks ago in Mexico, Wanderley was elected president of the new organization.
Dr. Ron Tripp (Norman, Okla.), General Secretary and former USA Judo President, was elected as President of the Central and North America region, making him one of three leaders of regions within the Americas.
USA Judo CEO Jose H. Rodriguez (Colorado Springs, Colo.) also received a key position within the new organization as Director of Development.
"I would like to congratulate Mr. Wanderley on his election as president of the PJC as well as Dr. Tripp and Mr. Rodriguez," said USA Judo President Lance Nading (Denver, Colo.) "We at USA Judo are very happy to have two members of our leadership on the Executive Committee of such a prestigious international organization. We look forward to having a great relationship with the PJC and fully support the IJF in their decision."
