Sub-junior national judo championship begins in Meghalaya

Shillong, Aug 27 (PTI) Sub-junior National Judo Championship, organised by Meghalaya Judo Association, was declared open by former union minister and Judo Federation of India (JFI) president Jagdish Tytler here today.The National Championship was the first of its kind to be held in Meghalaya, Tytler told newsmen.Earlier, Tytler also an MP, along with Meghalaya Sports and Youth Affairs minister Zenith Sangma paid floral tribute to freedom fighter U Tirot Sing Syiem of Meghalaya at the U Tirot Sing indoor stadium.Meawhile, the 'Rabindranath Tagore Lifetime Achievement award was given to Tytler, JFI secretary Mukesh Kumar and JFI chairman of JFI technial council Manohar Bangara by the West Bengal Judo association.
