Shiraz to celebrate World Poetry Day

TEHRAN -- Shiraz is to celebrate World Poetry Day (March 21) during a week-long conference which will commence on March 16. This will be the second edition of the poetry congress to be held by the Persian Studies Foundation in Shiraz, secretary of the event Kavus Hassanli said.

He announced that various projects have been organized and several Iranian scholars are due to make speeches on the first day. He went on to say that Ali Asghar Safari from the University of Isfahan, Mohammad-Kazem Kahduii from the University of Yazd and Ahmad Pashaii from Sanandaj are among the scholars who will be giving discourses during the conference.
Among the side sections will be a poetry night, an exhibition of calligraphy and illumination artworks. The articles presented during the conference will also be published.
