Yawara Judo Club members win medals at tournament

TRURO – All six representatives of the Colchester Yawara Judo Club competing at the recent Port Hawkesbury Invitational Judo Tournament were able to bring back medals.

Max and Mari Budgey led the effort each winning gold medals. Max finished atop the peewee division.

Bringing home silver medals were Joel Richards (juvenile), Joseph Gallant (juvenile) and Jenna Stubbert (peewee).

Daniel Matheson, who also competed in the juvenile category, claimed bronze in his first tournament.

The club operates out of the North River Elementary School on Tuesdays and Fridays.
