
ARMED Forces clinched the overall title of the inaugural Penang International Invitational Judo Championship 2007 despite not winning any gold medal on the final day.
The overnight leaders with four gold, three silver and one bronze only managed to add another three bronze at the Han Chiang High School Hall in George Town yesterday.
Hosts Penang were no better either, also managing only three bronze medals to their medal tally but maintained second spot, while Sabah added one to stay third. Bandar Penawar Sports School, who won only two bronze medals on the first day, walked tall yesterday. Their girls two gold while the boys won another two bronze to leapfrog to fourth spot.
Indonesia was the top foreign team with two gold and a bronze medal to finish fifth in the medal tally.

Under-66kg: 1 M. Yusuf (Ina), Joshua Leow (Sin), 3 Ooi Way Loon (Pg), 3 Mohd Fakkrul Izzat (BPSS).
Under-81kg: 1 Chong Cheng Keat (Sab), 2 Ting Chiong Woo (Swk), 3 Zak Zerrouk (Can), 3 Mohd Firdaus Jusoh (BPSS).
Under-90kg: 1 Takeshi Sakate (Jpn), 2 Bambang Rifandi (Sin), 3 Gordon Ong Shen Keat (Pg), 3 Muhammad Suhaimi (Pk).
Women's
Under-52kg: 1 Noormaizura Zainon (BPSS), 2 Melvynna Tambunan (Sin), 3 Lee Sin Yen (Pg)-Noorazean ishak (ATM).
Under-57kg: 1 Khairiyah Malek (Joh), 2 Nurhaslinda Azahari (Pk), 3 Sonya Frazier (US)-Siti Fatimah (ATM).
Under-63kg: 1 Nik Norbaizura (BPSS), 2 Nur Aishah (Pk), 3 Jenet Kumbau Sai (ATM), 3 Shahirah Kamil (Swk).
