BACK FROM THE DEAD TO FOLLOW OLYMPIC DREAM

BACK FROM THE DEAD TO FOLLOW OLYMPIC DREAM
Sep 29 2006

A BRAVE teenager who died twice after he suffered appalling injuries in a horror fall from a three-storey building is hoping for a stunning Olympic triumph.
Brian Thomson’s heart stopped on two occasions and he was left in a coma following the freak accident when he was only five years old.
The youngster also suffered severe brain trauma and doctors told his heartbroken family he was unlikely to survive.
But, incredibly, Brian, defied the odds to pull through and has since gone on to become a talented sportsman.
Last year, he won two gold medals in Judo at the Special Olympics in Glasgow and he is now on the verge of securing a place in the Great Britain team for the 2007 Special Olympics in Shanghai.
