Nigeria approves 24 weight categories for judo championships
The Nigeria Judo Federation (NJF) has approved 24 weight categories to feature in all NJF-organized open championships.
NJF Secretary General Tayo Oreweme said in a statement issued here on Wednesday that 12 weight categories beginning from 35kg to 100kg would be featured in the men's fights. .
The women's events would feature categories from 28kg to 78kg, he added.
Oreweme also expressed concern over the dilapidation of NJF training kit including the judo mats nationwide and urged coaches in member associations to organize competitions in schools.
