ZAMBIA Judo Association (ZJA) has appealed to the Ministry of Sport to help it send a delegation of eight to the Commonwealth judo championships in Derry, Ireland.
ZJA president Shapa Wakun'guma on Tuesday said they had made arrangements to camp the team in Ireland for a month prior to the games that run from June 15-19.
He said the ZJA was asking sports minister George Chulumanda to help them with the airfares and maintenance. "With funds permitting, we will be sending at least five judokas and three officials to the Commonwealth judo championships in Ireland," Wakun'guma said.
"During this period the association is ready to bear all costs. However, we would require government to meet the airfares and maintenance for eight judokas and officials."
