JUDO-- Former OPRF wrestler Brad Bolen won the Quebec Open Judo Championship in Quebec, Canada on Sunday in the 66 kg (145.5 pounds) division.
Bolen also competed in Tokyo, Japan in September as a member of the U.S. team in the World Judo Championships.
The 21-year-old River Forest resident is currently ranked No. 18 in the International Judo Federation world rankings.
The IJF rankings will be used to determine qualifiers for the 2012 Olympic Games in London, with only the top 22 individual men and women per country/weight class qualifying.
In his first year of international competition, Bolen won the Pan Am Championships in April and finished second in the World Cup of Judo -- Venezuela.
He currently trains in the Albany, N.Y. area under former Olympic silver medalist Jason Morris.
