PJA facilitates judo clubs

LAHORE: The Punjab Judo Association, in a bid to promote judo in the region, facilitated different judo clubs and organisations in a function held here on Sunday. Judo mats and uniforms were distributed free of cost to the districts of Rawalpindi and Khanewal and to the judo clubs of Lahore Grammar School, Samanabad Girls High School and Gulshan-e-Ravi Judo Club during the ceremony.

Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan, Punjab Assembly deputy speaker, was the chief guest on the occasion. Mashood, who is also patron in chief of the PJA, said the PJA was trying its level best to promote the game in the region. He assured the organisers that the Punjab government would extend every possible help to the PJA. He appreciated the work being done by the PJA and hoped that they would continue it with great zeal. PJA president Asif Iqbal Khan and PJA secretary Shahid Javed Malik were also present on the occasion. “The PJA has chalked out a multi-phased programme according to which it will provide judo equipments to deserving clubs all over the Punjab. The PJA will also provide trained coaches to these clubs to impart training to the players,” the PJA secretary added.
