Special Correspondent CHENNAI: Governor Surjit Singh Barnala on Monday released five Urdu books, including four works of poetry.
The Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, and Mohammed Salahuddin Ayyubi, Chief Qazi, Government of Tamil Nadu, were among those who received the first copies. Mr. Barnala presented the Moulana Abdul Kalam Azad Trophy to Sajjad Hussain, Professor of Urdu, Madras University, for his service to the Urdu language.
