7th Intl Judo tournament closely contested

THE Barbados Judo Association held its 7th International Judo Tournament on Saturday at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium. The competition was intense and saw about 120 judokas representing Martinique, Great Britain, Suriname, Bahamas and host Barbados, competing in 35 different categories.
The Martiniquan contingent was particularly strong, especially in the lower weight classes. Nathaniel Onesipe of Martinique was particularly impressive in the 38Kg class, gaining vital points by pinning his opponents.
