Success for the young judo stars
31 October 2007
STRATFORD Judo-kwai's young stars were out in force at the recent Tsu-Mo-Kie Judo Club competition held at Epping Sports Centre and there were medals aplenty for the east London club.Cousins Sabina and Hadicha Karimova, both six, took the 'tiny tots' section by storm as they each won gold medals, while Harry Boc, Madison Fryatt, both seven, and Jinevra Lewis, 10, took silver and Jake Boyayanlar, Luis Vieira, both seven, Martin Audzer, eight, and Malik Bennett went home with bronzes, with six-year-old Tho-mas O'Grady finishing in fifth position. There was further Stratford success in the junior section and it was Hayley Willis, 11, Michael Willis, 15, and Elvinas Rupinskas, 14, who led the way, each securing overall victory.Paul Willis, 17, Jack Falzon, 14, and Liam Fryatt, 12, were unlucky not to also take gold, settling instead for silver medals on the day, while there were bronzes for Ramazan Karimov, 10, Kebra Edwards, 13, and 14-year-olds Roderick Pearce, Camilla Karim-ova and Anarldis Byliene.
