Judo ace Kelly Fong wins prized NTIS Athlete of the Year award

THE Territory's greatest judo export Kelly Fong was last night crowned the NTIS International Individual Athlete of the Year.
Several Territory athletes were recognised for their sporting achievements at the 2007 awards.
Australian hockey player Desmond Abbott won the International Team Athlete of the Year.
Australian sprinter Crystal Attenborough and hockey's Adrian Lockley won the national individual and team awards.
Sports Minister Kon Vatskalis said the 33 athletes and 23 volunteers recognised at last night's awards were proof of the Territory's sporting talent.
"Our NTIS athletes have shown the discipline, passion and drive to succeed in their chosen sport," Vatskalis said.
