ONE judo player will represent Tanzania in the World Championship set for Rio de Janeiro from September 10 to 16. The Judo Association of Tanzania (JATA) Secretary General, Shabaan Kashinde, named the player as Zaidi Hamisi Omari (60 kg). He said, the player is currently undergoing intensive training in Dar es Salaam under a Japanese coach, Mizouchi Yoshiyuki. Omari won bronze medal in the zone five championship held in Nairobi, Kenya in February. He also competed in the All African Games held in Algiers, Algeria in July. Kashinde said the organizers, International Judo Federation (IJF), have provided the association with two tickets for one player and official. He said they will also cover accommodation and meals for five days.
