North grad Sell rides Judo around the world, possibly to Olympics

Oshkosh North graduate Katie Sell is like many teenagers who went through that final high school rite of passage. She got a driver’s license, did her homework and played sports. However, that’s where Sell’s road diverges from the average individual her age. Sell was not a setter on the volleyball team; she did not run up and down the hardwood during the winter months. She wrestled. And while that is something becoming more commonplace, her real athletic passion is Judo.Sell has racked up Judo accolades hand-over-fist and has traveled the world competing and honing her craft.And if that wasn't enough to keep her busy, she attends the University of Texas-Brownsville, where she is majoring in kinesiology and has made the Dean’s list in each of her first two semesters as a college student. Even thought parts of those semesters were spent off campus. Way off campus.The sport has brought Sell across the globe to areas like China, Paris and the Dominican Republic to ply her trade.
