Lucknow girls, Ghaziabad boys emerge champs in state judo

Lucknow, August 7: Lucknow girls and Ghaziabad boys won the overall championship in the Sub-Junior and Junior State Judo Championship held at Sports Stadium Meerut from August 3 to 5. Lucknow girls won 6 golds, 9 silvers and 8 bronze medals while Ghaziabad boys won 5 golds, 3 silvers and 5 bronze. In the girls’ section, Ghaziabad bagged the second place while in the boys’ section Lucknow stood second.
According to Munawar Anzar, general secretary UP Judo Association (UPJA), 450 judokas and officials of 27 districts took part in the championships. The championship were organised by Meerut District Judo Association under the auspices of UP Judo Association.
