THE Judo Association of Tanzania (JATA) yesterday unveiled Yoshi Mizouchi from Japan as the new national coach. Yoshi, who who has been offered a one and a half year contract, replaces the German Philip Kruse who has been with the team for two years. He said his first mission would be to train judo coaches who would in turn teach children. "Every sport must have a foundation stone, and children are the future of judo, but because I have limited time, I have to train teachers who will in turn impart the knowledge to the young," said Yoshi. Before being appointed, Yoshi used to teach judo in the police force in Moshi. He will be assisted by Ahmed Riad from Egypt and Hussein Mpenda who will help them with scouting for young talents. Meanwhile, JATA vice-president Alpherio Nchimbi awarded Kruse a certificate of Appreciation for his contribution to the development of judo in the country. He added that Kruse opened a web site that is www.judo-tanzania.org on which you can access anything about judo in Tanzania.
