JUDO contributed 10 medals as Team Fiji finished equal second after the first day of competition proper in Samoa.
The Nemani Takayawa-led judokas won four gold, two silvers and four bronze medals.
Takayawa (100kg plus), Mereseini Galu (women's 78kg), Sisilia Nasiga women's under-70kg) and Elenoa Navuasese (women's under-78 kg) were the big winners.
Fiji's other gold medal winner was Caroline Pickering in the women's 100m freestyle having set a new SPG record.
Shooting provided two bronze medals through Glen Kable while three other bronze medals were collected by Manueli Tulo in weightlifting.
