Shropshire has one player in the GB judo squad for the 2007 Junior European Championships - with two more on the standby reserves list.
Telford’s Gemma Howell, 16, has been picked to represent her country in the under-57kgs section in Prague from October 5 to 7, but should she suffer any mishap, then another Telford teenager, Becky Dunning, would step in and take her place.
Yet another Telford girl, Kelly Edwards, is also on reserve in the under-48kgs weight division. She will get her chance if Toni Prince is forced to pull out.
