People from Palo Alto and beyond celebrated Japanese culture at the Palo Alto Buddhist Temple Obon Festival this weekend.
The festival featured demonstrations of Japanese cooking, judo (Japanese martial arts) and taiko (Japanese drumming), as well as musical performances and Buddhist dancing.
The festival was held Saturday, Aug. 4, from 5 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 5, from noon to 7:30 p.m.
