Judo: Nomura eager to fight at worlds despite knee injury
TOKYO, July 26 KYODO

Three-time Olympic champion Tadahiro Nomura has ruptured ligaments in his right knee but intends to fight in the world championships in Rio de Janeiro in September without undergoing surgery. Nomura informed reporters of his injury on Thursday and said, ''I can move. If I have surgery, it'll take six months until I return to action. I want to go with my desire to fight at the worlds rather than taking a break.''
