Kathmandu, July 24: The rift within Nepal Judo Association has come to an end with two warring sides agreeing for a four-point agreement recently.

In a move to settle the dispute, two members from the judo struggle committee and one from the side of National Sports Council were nominated in the Nepal Judo Association's ad-hoc body. Sudev Mahat of the struggling side was nominated as vice president while Ramesh Maharjan from NSC got another vice president's post. Dharma Kumar Shrestha was named member from the dissatisfied group of the ad hoc judo body, led by Deepak Harsha Bajracharya. The four points of the agreement between the warring sides included the provision of amending the present statute of the judo association as per the instructions and policies of NSC, and then holding elections of the association in a democratic way. As per the agreement, the district associations would be reconstituted democratically. Other two points in the agreement maintained that both sides would seek a consensus while taking important decisions and a judo coach from NSC would be invited to participate in the association's all meeting.

From Nepal Judo Association, President Bajracharya, General Secretary Ambika Bahadur Chhetri and member Bishnu Gurung had signed the agreement while from the struggling side, coordinator Sudev Mahat, members Dharma Kumar Shrestha and Navin Kumar Sunuwar had signed the agreement. NSC Judo coach Binod Raj Sainju and assistant coach Suraj Mahat were the witnesses of the four-point agreement.
