AZERBAIJANI PARALYMPIANS WIN TWO MEDALS IN WORLD JUDO CHAMPIONSHIP

Azerbaijan national judo team won two medals in World paralympic judo championship in Brommat, France - an important stepping stone to qualification for the Beijing Olympics in 2008. The eight-man team was led by senior coaches Ahmaddin Rajabli and Ibrahim Ibrahimov. The Azeri team’s best result was posted by Tofiq Mammadov (90 kg) who knocked all his rivals out of the competition to mount the highest step on the podium. Another Azerbaijani judoist Ramin Ibrahimov (60 kg) had to be satisfied with bronze. Azerbaijan became third in team event among 37 countries.
