By FRAN VOSS , Monday, 5 June 2006

Last year the State team won 19 medals in the national titles, held in Launceston, and is aiming to equal the result this year. The team consists of 25 athletes from under-13 to elite senior level and includes nine medallists from last year's titles.
Stefanie Parish, of Beaconsfield, 13, is confident that she has a good chance in under-16 division after winning a bronze in the category last year. She was also won a gold medal in the under-13 age group.
"I think I've got a pretty good chance this year. I'm aiming for silver at least, and hopefully gold in the under-16s," Stefanie said.Parish, a green belt, is a member of the West Tamar Judo Club which has a total of five members in the State team.
She only took up judo three years ago to follow in her brother's footsteps.
