LUCY Treasure has lived up to her name after returning with a gold medal from the AJA National Open Judo Championships.Lucy was one of several judo players from the Wisbech Judo Club to take part in the event held in Colchester, Essex, and there were other medal successes to cheer.Finishing second to Lucy in the girls' over-65kg open class, was Hannah Penn while Matthew Penn won bronze in the boys' under-50kg class.All club members taking part fought well and they will continue to train at the Queen Mary Centre on Tuesday evenings between 7pm and 8.30pm.Anyone interested in joining the club should contact Chris Clark on 01945 773611.The club are also looking for sponsors for their annual competition held in memory of former instructor and local businessman Tony Larkin.The competition is held every October and anyone willing to help should contact Chris on the telephone number above.
