Canadians win silver at Pan American judo event BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (CP) - Amy Cotton of Antigonish, N.S., and Tyler Boras of Lethbridge, Alta., won silver medals Friday to lead Canada in a five-medal performance at the Pan American judo championships.
Alexandru Ciupe of Montreal was third at 100 kilos, Marie-Helene Chisholm of Port-Cartier, Que., added a bronze in the women's 63-kilo class, and Catherine Roberge of Beauport, Que., took the bronze at 70 kilos.
Cotton defeated Brazil's Vania Ishii for third in the 78-kilogram class after losing a semifinal bout to gold-medallist Yaritza Abel of Cuba.
