Com ausência de Tani, Yamagishi é campeã japonesa no peso ligeiro
Com a ausência da bi-campeã olímpica Ryoko Tani, Emi Yamagishi venceu o campeonato japonês (selecionados) na categoria até 48kg. Na competição realizada no Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium, neste final de semana, três medalhistas de ouro em Atenas 2004 confirmaram sua condição de número um no Japão. Para chegar ao título, Yamagishi venceu por ippon Misato Nakamura, de apenas 16 anos, e conquistou o título mais importante de sua carreira. Ambas são consideradas as sucessoras de Tani, que deixou o judô ao anunciar sua gravidez em junho de 2005, dando a luz a um menino em dezembro passado. Nakamura foi campeã da Kodokan Cup e do Torneio de Fukuoka. Ambas foram convocadas a compor a equipe do Japão para o Campeonato Mundial por Equipes, em setembro, na França.Nas outras categorias, Maki Tsukada (+78kg), ouro em Atenas 2004, venceu seu quarto campeonato japonês seguido, enquanto a também campeã olímpica de 2004, Masae Ueno (-70kg) voltou a vencer no peso médio, conquistando também seu quarto ouro no Japão. A outra medalhista de ouro na Grécia, Ayumi Tanimoto, com uma série impressionante de ippons, sagrou-se tri-campeã no peso até 63kg.

Judo: Yamagishi wins national weight-class title at 48 kg+

YOKOHAMA, April 9_(Kyodo) _ Emi Yamagishi won the 48-kilogram crown in the absence of two-time Olympic champion Ryoko Tani while three Athens Olympic gold medalists all cruised to victory at the women's national weight-class judo championships Sunday.
Yamagishi executed an outer-leg sweep for an ippon victory over 16-year-old high school student Misato Nakamura in the final at Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium, winning her first major title in a meeting between judokas considered heir apparents to Tani.Both Yamagishi and Nakamura, who has won the Kodokan Cup and Fukuoka international women's meet, were named later in the day to the Japanese squad for the world team championships to be held in France in September.Tani has been sidelined since announcing her pregnancy in June last year. She gave birth to a baby boy in late December.In other weight-categories, Maki Tsukada won her fourth straight crown at over 78 kg and fellow Olympic champion Masae Ueno took back-to-back 70-kg titles and her fourth overall.Ayumi Tanimoto scored a series of ippon wins en route to her third 63-kg title and first in two years.
