RISING STARS: Stratford youngsters with their trophies

STRATFORD Judokwai's rising stars struck gold at the weekend as they picked up a total of six medals from the BJC Mac Open Judo Championships held in Maidstone.Of the seven club members who made the trip down to the Kent heartland, four returned with gold medals and unblemished fight records.Jordan Chappel won the under-30 kilo section with four wins out of four, while Michael Willis (under-50 kilo) and Shaun Falzon (under-55 kilo) took the honours in their sections, also both winning four out of four.James Falzon completed the Stratford golden quartet by securing three wins from his three fights in the under-60 kilo category, while there were silver medals for Hayley Wills in the under-32 kilo and Paul Willis in the under-60 kilo sections, while Abbey Willis narrowly missed out on a medal in the open category.Anyone interested in joining these young stars at Stratford Judokwai should contact Mick Foulger on 07985 601260.
