GOOLE Judo Club member Lauren Slater achieved gold when she competed in the National Police Champion-ships over the weekend.
The 23-year-old who is a member of the Wakefield police force, competed in the under-70k category and took top spot, and also won gold in the open weight category, winning six fights with six Ippons.
This success means she will go on to fight in the Midlands Area contest at Walsall which could lead to her representing the police abroad.
Slater has been a member of Goole Judo Club since the age of five and her coach John Burkill said: "I think she's doing brilliantly and I'm hopeful that she will join us when we take a group to Ruane to fight in November.
"Every time she fights she's coming back with a good result."
