After the 60-kilogram category was added to the competitions, Iran's students' judo team has arrived in Bangkok with five members.

Although the coaches had omitted Mustafa Dalirian from the list because he did not meet the necessary conditions to participate in the tournament, his name was added to the list following an announcement allowing 60-kilogram competitors. The Iranian judo team now consists of Mustafa Dalirian (60 kg), Mohsen Zakaria (66 kg), Reza Chahkhandagh (81 kg), Hossein Qomi (90 kg), and Saeed Khosravinejad(+100) and will be coached by Mohammad Reza Hajyousefzadeh and Majid Zare`ian. Iran ranked third at the Asian judo competitions in Kuwait on May 18, when it won a gold medal in addition to three other medals. The competitions will start next Thursday.
